Arvind Kejriwal Meets Nitish Kumar, Tejashwi Yadav Over Opposition Unity Ahead of 2024 General Elections
Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of Delhi and the leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), met with Nitish Kumar, the Chief Minister of Bihar, and Tejashwi Yadav, the leader of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), to discuss the unity of the opposition parties ahead of the 2024 general elections in India.
The meeting took place on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, and lasted for around two hours. Kejriwal, Kumar, and Yadav reportedly discussed several issues related to the upcoming elections, including the formation of a united opposition front to take on the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its allies.
After the meeting, Kejriwal told reporters that the three leaders had a fruitful discussion and agreed to work together to defeat the BJP in the next elections. He said, “We had a good meeting today. We discussed the challenges facing the country and the need for the opposition parties to come together. We have agreed to work together to ensure the victory of the opposition parties in the next elections.”
Nitish Kumar, on the other hand, said that the meeting was a “courtesy call” and that they did not discuss any political issues. He said, “We had a good meeting, but it was just a courtesy call. We did not discuss any political issues or the upcoming elections.”
Tejashwi Yadav, who is seen as a key opposition leader in Bihar, said that the opposition parties needed to unite to take on the BJP. He said, “We need to come together to defeat the BJP. We need to work together and ensure that the people’s voice is heard.”
The meeting between Kejriwal, Kumar, and Yadav comes at a time when the opposition parties are trying to form a united front to take on the BJP in the next elections. The BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is currently in power at the center, and the opposition parties are hoping to unseat it in the next elections
