World Boxing Championships 2023: India Squad, Schedule & Live Streaming Info

Indian Men’s boxing contingent will be in action at the 2023 IBA Men’s World Boxing Championships which is scheduled to be held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan from April 30 to May 14.

Six-time Asian Championships medallist Shiva Thapa and 2019 Asian Championships silver medallist Deepak Bhoria will headline the Indian 13-member squad for the showpiece event in Tashkent. The India squad also includes the likes of Akash Sangwan.

The Tashkent Championships will see around 640 boxers from 104 countries including that of seven defending World Champions like Sofiane Oumiha from France, Japan’s Tomoya Tsuboi and Sewonrets Okazawa among others. The event will also serve as a qualifier for the Paris 2024 Olympics.

The gold medalists will walk away with a prize money of USD 200,000. The silver medallists are to be given USD 100,000, and both bronze-medallists will be awarded USD 50,000 each.

World Boxing Championships 2023 Telecast and Live Streaming Info

FanCode, India’s premier sports destination, will live stream the IBA Men’s Boxing World Championship from April 30-May 14. While the opening ceremony will take place on April 30, the preliminary rounds and quarterfinals will begin from May 1.

The Men’s World Boxing Championship will be the first major boxing tournament on FanCode this year, and the line-up for the rest of the year also includes the Golden Belt series in Bangkok, Colombia, Slovenia which will take place in July, August, September respectively.

The Diamond Belt series in December and the Junior World Championships, which will be held in Mexico in November 2023 will also be available on FanCode.
