Vivo officially introduced its newest X100 series in China, featuring the Vivo X100 Pro and Vivo X100 smartphones on Tuesday, November 13. The announcement was made via the Chinese social media platform Weibo, marking the arrival of the flagship lineup that follows the previous Vivo X90 series from last year. The X100 series comprises two models, namely the Vivo X100 and the Vivo X100 Pro.
Vivo’s new flagship smartphones come with the brand-new MediaTek Dimensity 9300 SoC, running on Android 14-based OriginOS 4, and flaunts Zeiss-branded triple rear camera units. Let’s take a closer look at the price and specs of Vivo’s new flagship series.
Vivo X100 series price and India availability
The Vivo X100 and X100 Pro are now available for pre-order in China, with prices starting at 3,999 yuan (about Rs 45,600) and 4,999 yuan (about Rs 57,000), respectively. Both phones will be released on November 21st and come in four colors: Star Trail Blue, White Moonlight, Chen Ye Black, and Sunset Orange. All four colors have a leather finish with a water ripple texture.
The Vivo X100 has four different RAM and storage configurations, while the X100 Pro has three. The X100’s base model has 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, while the X100 Pro’s base model has 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
As for India availability, Vivo is expected to reveal details on the launch of the smartphones in India soon.
Vivo X100 series specifications
The Vivo X100 and X100 Pro share the same 6.78-inch curved AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and 3000 nits peak brightness. The display uses 8T LTPO technology and 2160Hz PWM dimming to reduce flicker. Both phones are powered by the Dimensity 9300 chipset with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.
Under the hood, The Vivo X100 has three rear cameras: a 50MP main camera with a customized IMX920 sensor, a 50MP ultrawide camera, and a 64MP telephoto camera with a periscope lens and macro capabilities. The X100 Pro has the same three cameras, but the main camera has a larger IMX989 sensor for enhanced photography.
Additionally, The Vivo X100 Pro is also the company’s first phone to have a telephoto lens certified by Zeiss APO, to produce high-quality images with minimal distortion. The phone also has Vivo’s self-developed imaging chip V3, which can process 4K video, protect skin tones in videos, and shoot and edit 4K portrait videos, which is a first for Android phones.
For charging, the Vivo X100 is equipped with a 5000mAh battery, claimed to charge from 50 percent to full in just 11 minutes with the phone’s 120W fast charger. On the other hand, the Vivo X100 Pro features a larger 5400mAh battery, which is said to reach a 50 per cent charge in 12.5 minutes using its 100W fast charger. Additionally, the Pro model supports 50W wireless charging.
Both Vivo X100 and X100 Pro run on Origin OS 4.0, which is based on Android 14. The smartphones are also dust and water resistant, with an IP68 rating.
