Even as the launch of the upcoming Apple iPhone 15 series is months away, a new report says that the iPhone 15 Pro is likely to be unveiled in a new Crimson colour. As per a report by 9to5Mac, the upcoming Crimson colourway would be lighter than the existing purple colour variant of iPhone 14 Pro. The tech giant is also said to be working to introduce a new Green colour variant of the vanilla iPhone 15. 

The 9To5Mac report added that the iPhone 15 Pro would be available in an “exclusive” Crimson colour option which has also been mentioned by a trusted tipster on Weibo. The standard iPhone 15 would get a new Green colour which is said to be “close to the green colour” of the iPhone 12 and iPhone 11. However, this information should be taken with a pinch of salt.

Instagram Threads, the much-talked-about Twitter rival is likely to launch on July 6, according to an Apple App Store listing for the app, amid criticism of Twitter due to Elon Musk imposed limit on reading posts on the platform. This also means that Instagram Threads is ready to be launched on Apple iPhone. A report from last night suggests that Thread’s version for Android has also been spotted on the official Google Play Store. The app has been in development since January and will be directly integrated with Meta-owned Instagram, reports say.

 

In a bid to expand local hardware assembly in India, Alphabet-owned Google is set to appoint a manufacturing and policy veteran. Sreenivasa Reddy, a former Apple executive, is set to take over as Google’s India policy head, said a report by news agency Bloomberg on Tuesday. Reddy is currently a senior engineering executive at tech giant Microsoft. He may join Google towards the end of this year, the report added, citing people familiar with the matter.

Sreenivasan’s previous stints included holding senior positions at tech giant Apple’s India regulatory team. He also headed government relations at the local unit of Swedish telecom gear maker Ericsson AB, and helped drive domestic manufacturing at both companies.

In a bid to protect advanced technology, the US is looking to limit China’s access to cloud services such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft’s Azure. Washington is mulling making it mandatory for cloud service providers to seek government permission before serving Chinese companies that employ such platforms to train artificial intelligence (AI) models, says a report by The Wall Street Journal. The Joe Biden-led administration is preparing to restrict Chinese companies’ access to US cloud-computing services, according to people familiar with the situation, in a move that could further strain relations between the world’s economic superpowers, the report added.

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) is set to begin manufacturing in India, in partnership with VVDN Technologies. The tech giant aims to manufacture high-volume servers worth $1 billion in the country, in the first five years, the media has reported. These high-volume servers are said to be manufactured at VVDN Technologies plant in Manesar in the Indian state of Haryana. According to HPE, this manufacturing operation intends to support the growing demand from customers in India and further strengthen and it would diversify HPE’s global supply chain, says a report.
