On this week’s Story that caught my eye, we are talking about the triggering case of Balesh Dhankar, an Indian-Australian man, who has been found guilty of raping 5 Korean women. His modus operandi was to conduct fake interviews and lure women with the promise of jobs. The serial rapists horror unfolded after one of the women went to the police in September 2018. It was when the police raided Dhankar’s apartment in 2018 that the true extent of the sexual assault first came to light. Police found hidden cameras, hours and hours of recordings on his laptop of him having sex with women, some unresponsive. When the case was filed against him, he pleaded not guilty to 39 charges. This week… a jury held him guilty on each of those 39 charges.
