Tech Mahindra new CEO Joshi revamps organisation structure


BENGALURU: Under its new MD and CEO Mohit Joshi, Tech Mahindra has undertaken a reorg to sharpen its focus in strategic areas by rejigging some roles and expanding responsibilities to drive more accountability. The former Infosys president will succeed CP Gurnani later this year. Industry observers believe the new org structure will make it agile to go after newer market opportunities.
Abhishek Shankar, president of Tech Mahindra’s America CME (Communications, Media, and Entertainment) business will be responsible for AT&T, Verizon, cables, and large deals in addition to the communications business. Americas tech and media is headed by president of enterprise tech business Harshul Asnani with responsibilities spanning software/ISV, semicon, digital natives and consumer tech, Microsoft, Google, and large deals among others.
Lakshmanan Chidambaram (CTL) will oversee Americas’ diverse industry groups
including BFSI, manufacturing, healthcare and life sciences, retail, General Electric, UPS, and large deals. CTL is currently the president of Americas enterprise business.
Vikram Nair, president of EMEA business, is responsible for UK and Ireland diverse industry groups, EU Communications, Middle East Africa, Telefonica, BT, and large deals.
Rajesh Chandiramani, business head — communications, media, and entertainment for EMEA and APJI markets, is now the head of its subsidiary Comviva. Jagadish Mitra, chief strategy officer and head of growth at Tech Mahindra, is the head of India and corporate affairs. Vivek Agarwal, president of APJI enterprise, BFSI and corporate development, oversees strategy and transformation.
Its chief people officer Harshavendra Soin’s role has additional responsibilities of APJ including ANZ (Australia and New Zealand) diverse industry groups, ANZ -BFSI, SEA (Southeast Asia BFSI including Prudential), Rakuten, Telstra, large deals among other things. Biren Sen will continue to lead business process services.
The other roles including, legal, CFO, internal audit, and chief sustainability officer will continue to report to Joshi
Under COO Atul Soneja’s structure, each service line will have 5 key capabilities including delivery, offering build and commercialisation, specialist sales, solutioning, alliances and partnerships. All service lines roll up to him including network, services, engineering services and delivery excellence.
Vikas Gupta, global business head of cloud infrastructure services (CIS), will continue to lead cloud and infrastructure that include cloud advisory, Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud Platform. Sahil Dhawan is responsible for enterprise applications including SAP, ServiceNow, Salesforce among others. Its chief digital officer Kunal Purohit is responsible for nextgen services AI, blockchain, metaverse, business excellence and other responsibilities. Manish Mangal will lead network services, Sunil Karkera will lead design, RV Narasimham to head engineering services, Anuj Bhalla delivery excellence, Rohit Madhak will oversee strategic solutioning and transformation, while Krishna Ramaswami will lead people supply chain among other roles announced internally.
