Samsung, the South Korean electronics giant, has launched its latest mid-range smartphone in India, the Galaxy M14 5G. The new smartphone is the successor to the Galaxy M13 and comes with a host of new features, including a powerful 6,000 mAh battery and 5G connectivity.
The Galaxy M14 5G sports a 6.5-inch full-HD+ Infinity-V display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. It is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 720 SoC, paired with up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded via a microSD card (up to 1TB).
The device comes with a quad-camera setup at the rear, featuring a 48-megapixel primary sensor, a 5-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, a 2-megapixel macro lens, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. On the front, there is an 8-megapixel camera for selfies and video calling.
The Galaxy M14 5G runs on Samsung’s One UI 3.1, based on Android 11, and packs a 6,000 mAh battery with support for 15W fast charging. Other features of the phone include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port.
The smartphone is priced at Rs 17,999 for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant and is available in two color options – Black and Blue. It is available for purchase on Samsung’s official website, Amazon India, and other leading e-commerce platforms.
Samsung’s Galaxy M14 5G is expected to face stiff competition from other mid-range smartphones in the market, such as the Realme 8 5G, Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro Max, and the Moto G60, among others. However, the device’s powerful battery, 5G connectivity, and quad-camera setup may give it an edge over its competitors.
The launch of the Galaxy M14 5G comes at a time when Samsung is trying to strengthen its position in the mid-range smartphone segment in India. The company has been facing tough competition from Chinese brands such as Xiaomi, Realme, and Vivo in this segment, and is hoping to make a comeback with the Galaxy M14 5G.
