Residents Get A Chance To Know About Iaf At Sulur

Coimbatore: The Indian Air Force (IAF) conducted a programme titled ‘Know Your IAF’ at the Air Force station in Sulur on Saturday. The programme was held to create awareness on the military potential of the Indian Air Force among the common public and to motivate students and youths to opt for a career with the IAF.School students were enthralled to witness an aerobatic display by the Surya Kiran team, Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas and Mi-17. The performance by IAF soldiers elicited loud applause and cheers from the audience. Flying in formation at a mere 10 meters’ separation, the flying machine of the IAF defied the laws of aerodynamics and left the audience breathless while giving them memories of a lifetime, while their thrilling aerial maneuvers left the audience mesmerised.Static display of aircrafts, systems, and demonstrations by personnel from the IAF Special Forces “Garuds” also enthused youngsters. Visitors also got to see in close proximity aircrafts, radar and other military equipment, like never before. IAF may hold air show in Arunachal: Air Marshal Dharkar

The Indian Air Force (IAF) is considering conducting an air show in Arunachal Pradesh, a strategically important state bordering China. Air Marshal SP Dharkar, the AOC-in-C of the Eastern Air Command, mentioned that holding an air show in the hilly terrain of Arunachal Pradesh would be challenging but an interesting idea. He expressed the possibility of the IAF conducting an air show in the state in the near future. IAF’s Eastern Command building capability to use any airfields: Air Marshal Dharkar

The Indian Air Force is developing its capability to use civilian airfields in the eastern part of the country to address the shortage of landing facilities. Air Marshal SP Dharkar stated that the Eastern Air Command is introducing the latest technologies to protect the country’s airspace and borders more efficiently. The IAF aims to have enough airfields in the region comparable to neighboring countries. Dharkar also mentioned the flexibility of the Air Force to quickly relocate aircraft within a zone or region.

IAF successfully tests longer range air-launched BrahMos cruise missile

The Indian Air Force has successfully test-fired the air-launched version of the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile in the Bay of Bengal. The missile was fired from a Sukhoi fighter jet, demonstrating its long-range capability. India has also conducted successful trials of the land attack missile system and is exporting the missiles to friendly nations. The BrahMos Aerospace corporation is exploring opportunities to expand missile exports to more countries.
