NTA issues clarification on medium of question paper in NEET UG 2023 exam

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued a clarification on the medium of the question paper of the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) UG 2023. The official notification is available on the NEET UG official website at neet.nta.nic.in.

As per NTA, candidates selecting English as the medium will be provided their test booklet in only English, while those who have opted for Hindi will be provided with a bilingual test booklet in English and Hindi. Candidates opting for regional languages would also be provided with a bilingual test booklet in the chosen regional language and English.

It has been further clarified that the regional languages will be available only in specific exam centres. In Assam for instance, Assamese will be available in the examination centres and not elsewhere, whereas Punjabi will be allowed in examination centres in Punjab, Chandigarh, Delhi/New Delhi (including Faridabad, Ghaziabad, Gurugram, Meerut, Noida/Greater Noida).

It is important to note that while English is available at all NEET UG 2023 exam centres, Hindi and Urdu are the mediums available only in the exam centres located within India.

In West Bengal, Tripura, and Andaman and Nicobar Islands, the question paper will be available in Bengali, while Gujrati will be available in Gujarat, Daman and Diu, Dadra and Nagar Haveli. Similarly, Kannada will only be available in Karnataka’s exam centres, Marathi only in Maharashtra and Odia as an option will be available only in Odisha.
