By Ankita Garg: The Nothing Phone (2) is coming and this is not a secret anymore. The company has already confirmed that the arrival of this 5G phone, but hasn’t revealed the exact launch date. We do know that the Nothing Phone (2) will make its debut this summer. While we are waiting for Nothing to confirm more details, the leaks have already painted a picture of what we can expect from the upcoming Nothing Phone (2) smartphone.

Nothing Phone (2): One feature is officially confirmed

Alex Katouzian, who is Qualcomm’s SVP and GM of the Mobile, Compute and XR units, has accidentally confirmed on LinkedIn that the Nothing Phone (2) will come with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 2 SoC. While this is not the latest, it is still very fast chip that has powered many recent flagship phones. The use of a flagship chip suggests that the price could be a bit higher than the previous model. To recall, the first generation Nothing Phone (1) was announced in India with a starting price of Rs 32,999. This handset is using a mid-range Snapdragon 778G+ chip under the hood.

Nothing Phone (2): Leaked specifications

The Nothing Phone (2) is said to come with a FHD+ display. It is expected to have an AMOLED screen with support for a 120Hz refresh rate. On the front, we will likely see a punch-hole display design on the front, which is the latest trend in the industry. It is unknown whether we will see a change in the design part of the smartphone. The leaks have hinted that there could be minor changes in this department. We might get to see a semi-transparent design at the back because this is something that the brand has been following for all the products.

We could also see a triple rear camera setup, including a 50-megapixel primary camera with support for OIS for stabilized shots. The details about other sensors are still unknown. It will likely run on the latest Android 13 OS software. The company offered the latest software with last year’s model and so, we expect to do the same with the new version as well.

We could also expect to see a 5,000mAh battery under the hood. This will be a big upgrade over the 4,500mAh unit seen on the previous model with support for 33W fast charge. The company is tipped to provide support for 67W fast charging tech. It might also receive support for wireless charging tech.

The specifications suggest that the upcoming phone could be priced in the range of Rs 40,000. But, this is just a speculation based on the leaked specifications. Nothing is yet to provide any confirmation on above mentioned details.
