India’s new National Education Policy (NEP) is set to revolutionize the way students learn in the country by offering study materials in 22 Indian languages for classes 5 and above, according to a recent announcement by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

Under the new policy, the government is committed to providing high-quality, localized content that is accessible to students in their mother tongue. This move is expected to improve learning outcomes for students and promote multilingualism in the country.

In a recent statement, Pradhan emphasized the importance of language in education and stated that the new policy aims to provide a strong foundation for students in their mother tongue, which will enable them to learn other languages more effectively.

The study materials will be prepared by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) and will be available in 22 Indian languages, including Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, and Gujarati, among others.

This move is expected to benefit millions of students across the country, especially those from marginalized communities who have been historically excluded from access to high-quality education.

The new policy also includes several other key reforms, including a 5+3+3+4 structure for school education, a focus on experiential learning, and the introduction of vocational education from class 6 onwards.

Overall, the new National Education Policy is set to bring about significant changes in the way education is delivered in India, with a focus on quality, accessibility, and inclusivity. The provision of study materials in 22 Indian languages for classes 5 and above is a major step towards achieving these goals and ensuring that no student is left behind.
