NEET UG will be held on May 7 and the, aspirants have ramped up their preparations seeking the highly competitive nature. Thus, a smart work plan is necessary to avoid any last-minute hurdles during their preparation journey.
Since last year, with NTA’s amendments, the NEET UG 2023 exam will be conducted in pen and paper mode only, which consists of four sections namely Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology. The overall exam consists of 180 questions of 720 marks in total, with each subject having two sections. Section A consist of 30 mandatory MCQ’s, and students need to answer any 10 questions from Section B, in each subject.
If we look at the last year trend and previous year papers of NEET UG 2023, it is suggestive that the overall difficulty level were upto moderate. While biology was the core subject in class 11 and 12, Zoology was found to be the easiest followed by botany, chemistry, and likely, physics was considered the toughest among all, due to various conceptual based questions and numericals.
Revise your Chemistry well
Previous year trends suggest that Chemistry in NEET UG is one of the most easiest sections to solve, though need consistent revision and practice to keep things on track. Chapters on atomic structure, solid state, ionic equilibrium, electrochemistry, and thermochemistry should get special attention. Keep making notes of any easy formulae you come across when answering questions. These might be helpful during the final week of revision.
Organic Chemistry– Concentrate on the variety of name reactions and their mechanics that you have covered in classes 11 and 12. Exams frequently include questions about the Cannizzaro, Aidol, and Ozonolysis reactions. Along with chemical tests for various functional groups, questions about acidity and basicity order should also be carefully practised. Write down significant topics in your notes that you should review in the final week of the exam.
Inorganic Chemistry– Chapters on chemical bonding, p-block elements, coordination chemistry, and qualitative analysis should be topics of emphasis. Try to recall information so that you may use it throughout the exam.
Short note revision- Now that you have finished all of your revision, take some time to review the notes you wrote every day for the previous three weeks. Take a mock exam every day, and thoroughly analyse the results.
Refer NCERT books- Always remember not to cite too many works or authors from other countries. Since a large percentage of the NEET syllabus is covered by NCERT, learning from NCERT textbooks will put you ahead of your competition since it aids in comprehending the principles and concepts and gives you a comprehensive knowledge of each topic.
In general, one should utilise this time to consolidate their preparation, concentrate on problem-solving, and strengthen their weakest preparation areas. The last few days must be intelligently used to hone the capacity to solve problems that need a profound understanding of the underlying idea, improve the time required to address the problem at hand, identify the weak points, and rectify them.
