But which of these launches actually made an impact on consumers? That’s what we intend to find out with the April 2023 edition of MSP Tech Insights which reveals interesting insights about the popularity of different smartphones, and consequently, brands.
The data has been collected from 15 million shoppers that visited our platform last month to make gadget purchase decisions. So without further ado, let’s check out the MySmartPrice Tech Insights report for April 2023.
Vivo is the Most Popular Smartphone Brand in April 2023
With a share of 18.80%, Vivo led the popularity charts in the month of April. Realme claimed the second spot with 13.90% popularity and beat Samsung with a marginal 1% difference. OnePlus and Apple held the fourth and fifth positions respectively.Â

Mid-Range Smartphones between Rs 10,000 – 20,000 Becomes the Most Popular Price Segment in April
India has always been a price-conscious market which is why the low-budget and mid-range segments are filled with a plethora of smartphones. MSP Tech Insights report for April 2023 edition reveals that Indian smartphone buyers look for most devices priced between Rs 10,000 to Rs 20,000. This segment is followed by the under Rs 10,000 segment, which used to be the most popular one until a couple of years back.Â

Most Popular Mobile Phones in April 2023
1. OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite 5G
OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite 5G is one of the most affordable phones from the company in India. Considering it was launched in the last month itself, it’s quite impressive to see it perched at the top… but not without a good reason. For under Rs 20,000, the device offers a 120Hz LCD display, a Snapdragon 695 chipset, 67W SuperVOOC charging and much more. Its Pastel Lime colour variant has also been the talk of the town.Â

2. Vivo T2
The Vivo T2 was launched as a competitor to the OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite last month. Just like the latter, it’s also powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 695 SoC but gets an AMOLED display panel. Aiding to Vivo T2’s popularity is the fact that it’s Rs 1,000 cheaper compared to the Nord CE 3 Lite.Â
 3. Realme Narzo N55
The first Narzo N series device from Realme created a lot of buzz on our platform. The Realme Narzo N55 brings the iPhone 14 Pro’s Dynamic Island-like Mini Capsule feature to the budget segment. Priced at Rs 10,999, the Narzo N55 brings a different design language along with the MediaTek Helio G88 processor under the hood. It was launched on April 12th, and the company will soon have a new smartphone in the series – Narzo N53. Â
4. Realme C55
The Realme C53 was among the most searched phones on the MySmartPrice platform and its successor, the Realme C55 is continuing that tradition. The Realme C series devices are a major hit in the offline market. The C55 was the first Android device to adapt to iPhone 14 Pro’s Dynamic Island; the company calls it Mini Capsule. The brand recently unveiled a new Rainforest colour option for the device and it’s priced at Rs 10,999.Â

5. Vivo T2X
Priced at Rs 12,999, the Vivo T2x 5G is the most affordable smartphone in India to be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 6020 chipset. It’s also one of the most affordable devices to have 5G support. The Vivo T2 series devices, launched in April, are among the top five searched phones on the MySmartPrice platform and show how Vivo managed to top the list of most popular brands in India last month.Â
6. Jio Phone
The Jio Phone is the only feature phone to be listed on the most popular mobile phones list in April. It’s one of the most affordable phones in India however, the availability of the device is uncertain. Even though the phone was launched a couple of years ago, the demand for the device is still high. It shows that many users are still searching for a decent feature phone that provides 4G connectivity.Â
7. iQOO Z7
The iQOO Z7 is one of the most popular budget devices under Rs 20,000. Its design, combined with powerful specs such as the MediaTek Dimensity 920 processor, 90Hz AMOLED display, and 64MP Samsung ISOCELL GW3 sensor, makes it quite enticing for Rs 18,999. Launched in March this year, it competes with the likes of the OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite and the Realme 10 Pro.Â

8. Realme 10 Pro Plus
Launched in December 2022, the Realme 10 Pro Plus is continuing its dominance in its segment. The Realme 10 Pro Plus brings a curved display to the mid-segment, a feature that was earlier limited to premium devices. At Rs 24,999, the Realme 10 Pro Plus features a MediaTek Dimensity 1080 SoC, 108MP camera setup, and 67W charging among others. That said, the Realme 11 Pro series with a 200MP camera setup is launching this month in India, so it’d be interesting to see if it’s able to follow its predecessor’s footsteps. Â

9. OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G
Let us tell you a fun fact – both the OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite and Nord CE 3 Lite smartphones were launched in April, but the former was launched in 2022 whereas the latter has been launched in 2023. Still, both devices are present in this list, which shows the brand value of OnePlus in India. Users are still interested in a year-old device even though its successor is already selling.Â

10.OnePlus 11R
The OnePlus 11R is an India-exclusive device that was launched in February. The phone provides promising specs including the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, a 50MP Sony IMX890 sensor, 100W charging and much more for under Rs 40,000. Furthermore, it brings the premium OnePlus 11 design at an attractive price point.Â

Top 5 Upcoming Smartphones in IndiaÂ
1. Apple iPhone 15
Unsurprisingly, the Apple iPhone 15 is one of the most anticipated devices of 2023. The device is expected to launch in September, but users have started showing their interest in the upcoming Apple device already. The Cupertino-based tech giant brand is expected to add iPhone 14 Pro models Dynamic Island to the non-Pro iPhone 15 models. The rumour mill also claims that the lightning port is finally getting replaced by the Type-C port.Â
2. OnePlus Nord 3 5G
The OnePlus Nord 3 5G rumours have been surfacing on the web for a long time but the India launch isn’t very far. The phone’s moniker was recently spotted on the company’s India website which hints at its imminent launch. The Nord 3 5G is expected to feature a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chipset, a 120Hz AMOLED display, and 80W fast charging support.
3. Nothing Phone 2
The Nothing Phone (1) created its separate fanbase last year, all thanks to its unique transparent design and glyph lightning. Nothing has started teasing its successor Phone (2) and users can’t hold their excitement for a second smartphone from Carl Pei-founded company. Nothing hasn’t confirmed any launch details or specifications about the device however, early teaser hints that the handset may launch in July. It’s teased to be powered by a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset and retain its transparent design.
4. Redmi Note 13 Pro Max 5G
Xiaomi’s Redmi Note number lineup is one of the most popular and best-selling devices in India. The company launched its Redmi Note 12 Series in India back in January and since then it has been unveiling more devices under the lineup. However, users seem to be more excited about the upcoming Redmi Note 13 Pro Max, although details or leaks about the device are scant at the moment.
5. POCO F5 Pro
POCO launched its flagship, POCO F5 in India which has been getting a good response from the audience. But it seems that users also want the company to bring its most premium phone, the POCO F5 Pro in India. It was launched globally along with the POCO F5 but didn’t make its way to our shores. The device packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC under the hood paired with 8 gigs of RAM.Â
