Kolhapur: The state government-appointed panel to find out Kunbi references among Marathas and issue certificates accordingly will travel to all revenue divisions to review the status of the work ordered to local officials.The panel members will tour the state between November 22 and December 14. The panel will first review Amravati and Nagpur divisions on November 22 and 23, respectively. The members will review work for Kolhapur and Sangli divisions on November 28. Then the members will visit Pune and Nashik divisions on November 29 and December, respectively. Then, they will visit Sindhudurg and Ratnagiri divisions on December 11 before wrapping up in Konkan division on December 14.A special cell, under deputy collector-rank officials and tehsildars, have been appointed in every district and tehsil. A senior official of the Kolhapur district administration said, “We have to keep the findings ready and approach the Maratha community activists to find any more references.”

Ahmedabad railway division launch intensive drive against inflammable items in trains

The Ministry of Railways in India has issued instructions to zonal railways to crack down on the carriage of inflammable items on trains, following the detection of firecrackers at various stations. Railways have urged passengers to refrain from carrying or allowing others to carry such items during their journey. Zonal railway divisions, including Ahmedabad, have launched awareness campaigns, with regular announcements at stations and intensified checks of luggage and parcels. Thirteen cases have been registered, resulting in the seizure of inflammable items worth INR 1.63 lakh.
