iPhone 16 Series Expected to Feature Ultra-Thin Bezels
Appleās upcoming iPhone 16 series, set to launch later this year, is anticipated to bring significant upgrades over its predecessor, the iPhone 15 lineup. Recent leaks and reports have shed light on various aspects of the iPhone 16 handsets, including camera enhancements, processor improvements, and sleeker designs.
A new technology called Border Reduction Structure (BRS), also known as āBorderlessā technology, is expected to play a crucial role in reducing bezel sizes on the iPhone 16 models. This technology aims to make the bezels, particularly the bottom one, thinner by rolling copper wires upward, according to a Sisajournal report.
In the past, manufacturers faced challenges in slimming down bottom bezels due to heat generation issues. However, the innovative approach of rolling copper wires employed by BRS is believed to overcome this obstacle effectively.
Both Samsung Display and LG Display, the reputed suppliers of screens for iPhone 16 models, are said to incorporate the BRS technology. It is anticipated that all four models in the iPhone 16 lineup ā the base iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max ā will benefit from this advancement.
The iPhone 16 Pro models are rumored to feature larger displays compared to their predecessors, with screen sizes of 6.27 inches and 6.85 inches for the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max, respectively. Additionally, these Pro models may introduce a new Capture Button for convenient photo and video capture.
Previous leaks have hinted at a vertical camera layout for the iPhone 16 series, along with upgraded Neural Engines powered by artificial intelligence. With these anticipated enhancements, Apple appears to be moving closer to its goal of developing a bezel-less smartphone, promising an exciting upgrade for iPhone enthusiasts. Stay tuned for further updates as the launch date approaches.
