Indefinite delay in issuing plus two certificates worries students

Thrissur: Many students are worried about the indefinite delay in issuing the plus two certificates, even after 37 days of declaring the results. The original certificate is required to process the visa applications for seeking admission in foreign universities.

When contacted, the Pareeksha Bhavan replied that it would take another 15 – 30 days to issue the certificates. This has jeopardized the higher education prospects of the students who expect admission in September.

The plus two results were published on 25 May; the SSLC results came out on 19 May. Meanwhile, the CBSE and ICSE results were published two weeks before this and the certificates were made available via the DigiLocker facility. The link to the DigiLocker could be provided for seeking admissions to various institutes including foreign universities.

Besides, it is incredibly easier to make copies of these certificates. Moreover, attestation too isn’t a hassle. However, the students are upset that the authorities aren’t ready to make their plus two certificates available even in the DigiLocker. Even though the printing of the certificates had begun well in advance, there is no clarity regarding when they would be distributed. Moreover, the authorities haven’t explained the reason for the delay.

As the mark list is available in the website, it wouldn’t be a problem applying for courses in Kerala.

However, many universities outside the state are asking for the original certificates. Students cannot apply for higher education or for scholarships in foreign universities without the original certificates. Even though Pareeksha Bhavan was contacted, no reply was available.
