Bengalureans often see strange and inexplicable things on their streets. Now a netizen has shared online a photo of a man riding pillion on a scooter wearing a paper bag in place of a helmet.

The photo was shared by the account named ThirdEye (@3rdEyeDude) on X, formerly Twitter, on November 12. The user describes himself as a YouTuber who captures “stupid drivers on his GoPro and submits the videos to Bengaluru traffic police”.

While the one driving the two-wheeler is wearing a proper helmet, the pillion rider has a paper bag over his face. “Helmet, what’s that?” says the caption along with laughing emoticons.

The post has garnered more than 33,000 views and left netizens wondering about the man’s intention.

“He is testing the AI cameras,” an X user wrote along with a laughing emoji. “AI Cameras Don’t Know The Difference,” said another. “Innovation!! Protection from dust/cold/polluted wind,” wrote a third. “That’s what they think their life is worth,” another user said.

In May, a woman drew flak online for working on her laptop while riding pillion on a scooter. The woman reportedly took a ride on the Rapido bike taxi service. Last month, a video of a helmetless woman working on her laptop while riding pillion on a motorbike was shared on Reddit.
