Creative Association – ‘It is great to have my music associated with the Prabha Khaitan Foundation’: Ricky Kej

Ricky Kej, the three-time Grammy award-winning Indian composer, has made India proud on the international stage multiple times. He is also the man behind the signature caller tune of the Prabha Khaitan Foundation, the Kolkata-based nonprofit trust dedicated to socio-cultural welfare and humanitarian causes. Founded by the late Dr Prabha Khaitan, the trust promotes the performing arts, culture and literature, and collaborates with like-minded individuals and institutions to implement educational, literary and social welfare projects in several cities in India and the world.

Taking his association with the Prabha Khaitan Foundation forward, Kej has now curated 12 pieces of original music, to be used as ‘Music of the Month’ scores across all of the trust’s events and social media platforms, as well as for pan-India and overseas communications.

The kaleidoscopic range of these songs encompasses everything from the rivers Ganga and Cauvery, the mighty Himalayas, Mother Earth and Mahatma Gandhi to spirituality, the philosophy of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam (‘The World is One Family’) and, notably, the official Land Anthem of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification.

The foundation’s association with Kej — whose passion for music and environmental consciousness inspires millions and brings happiness to many — is a cherished one. Each piece of music composed by Kej for the trust is unique, defined by its creator’s love for the environment. Kej’s music raises awareness for climate change and the urgency to step up sustainability measures in every sphere of our lives.

“I am very proud of this latest collaboration with Prabha Khaitan Foundation. It is always an honour to associate with such a great organization which has culture, art, artists and India at its core. All communications and video invites of the Foundation are innovative, and I love receiving them. So it is great to have my music associated with it for next year.”

– Ricky Kej

“Ricky Kej’s music is like a breath of fresh air which is sure to add an edge to our social media activities and video invites created for literary and cultural events in India and abroad. It will help us weave the spirit of universal environmental consciousness into all our endeavours.”

— Manisha Jain, Branding & Communications Chief, Prabha Khaitan Foundation
