PUNE: Next week onward, the process of Class 11 or first-year junior college (FYJC) admissions will be initiated by the director of education (secondary and higher secondary) Pune. The first part of the centralised admission process will begin next week as Class 10 exams are over and students are now waiting for their results.

According to information shared by the education department, students from different educational boards who have appeared for their Class 10 board examinations this year and are willing to take admission under the centralised admission process can begin preparations as initially, junior colleges have been told to conduct awareness programmes for students and their parents in the month of May.
Audumbar Ukirde, deputy director of education, Pune, said, “From the first week of May, a ‘mock demo registration’ process of filling the part 1 form will start. In the part 1 form to be filled by students, all their personal details, contact information and other educational details will be taken. Once the results are declared, the part 2 form will be open for filling by students.”

“Instructions have been given to all junior colleges to start their preparations for Class 11 admissions for the academic year 2023-24. Also, the college administration needs to understand the steps of this admission process and plan the process accordingly. Colleges should organise seminars and interactive sessions for students and their parents, and should give a lot of publicity to this admission process,” Ukirde said.
